For some reason that picture of the man on the beach reminds me of a seaside scene in Dickens when a terrible storm is threatening lives, people are running around trying to save a sinking boat offshore, and Dickens pauses to describe one man's arm pointing toward the disaster: the arm has a tattoo of an arrow on it.

Hit him over the head with your stick as hard as you can. As everything is predetermined, you can hardly be held to account for it.
